Our Story

The Augusta Furies Rugby Team has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1999, marked by a legacy of excellence, camaraderie, and competitive spirit. Since its inception, the Furies have consistently distinguished themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the women's rugby landscape, both locally and nationally.

One notable aspect of the Augusta Furies' history is their track record of developing talented players who have gone on to represent the United States on the international stage. Throughout the years, several Furies players have earned coveted spots on the USA Women's National Rugby Team, proudly donning the red, white, and blue as they competed against the world's best. In addition to producing capped USA players, the Augusta Furies have consistently competed at the highest levels of women's rugby across the nation. Through their participation in elite tournaments, such as the USA Rugby Club Championships and various regional competitions, the Furies have showcased their skill, determination, and tenacity on a national scale.

Hannah Price

Hannah brings a unique blend of experience and expertise to the Augusta Furies Rugby Team. As a former USA Women's Rugby player, Hannah has competed internationally in both 15s and 7s, showcasing her talent on the global stage. Her passion for the sport runs deep, and her experience as a player at the highest levels has equipped her with a deep understanding of the game and the intricacies of player development.

Beyond her playing career, Hannah has served as an assistant coach for the nationally ranked Wando Wahines High School rugby team, where she demonstrated her ability to develop talent and foster a winning culture.

Emily Clyburn

Introducing Emily, the creative force and leader of the pack! By day, she inspires young minds as an art teacher, fostering creativity and passion in her students. But on the rugby field, Emily transforms into a fierce flanker, fearlessly defending her team with grit and determination. Off the field, she's surrounded by the love of her three canine companions, finding solace and joy in their company. With a blend of artistic flair and athletic prowess, Emily leads by example, both in the classroom and on the pitch.

Laura Linehan

Introducing Laura, our Vice President! With five years of rugby experience, she knows how to tackle any challenge on and off the field. Off the field Laura works as an agency recruiter. When she's not scoring tries or sealing deals, you'll find her on a run, immersed in a book, whipping up culinary delights, or discovering new destinations. At home, Laura's the proud parent of a dog and two cats!
